Ryan Pate, MD
About Me

I am a board-certified psychiatrist with expertise in both general and geriatric psychiatry. My medical training began at LSU Health Shreveport, where I earned my medical degree. I then completed my psychiatry residency at Dartmouth, followed by an advanced fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at Stanford University, where I am currently on staff.

I believe that psychotherapy is an essential part of mental healthcare, offering a deeper understanding of ourselves and the challenges we face. To further integrate this into my practice, I pursued additional training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy through a two-year fellowship at the San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis. This background allows me to provide a nuanced and individualized approach to treatment, combining evidence-based medication management with meaningful therapeutic conversations.

My goal is to create a collaborative space where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered in their mental health journey. Whether addressing the complexities of aging or navigating life’s transitions, I strive to tailor treatment to each individual’s unique needs. If you’re looking for a thoughtful and personalized approach to psychiatric care, I invite you to reach out.
